This article completes and simplifies earlier results on the derivation of best linear, or affine, unbiased estimates in the general Gauss-Markov model with a singular dispersion matrix and additional restrictions under very general conditions. A new type of cyclolinear polymer, poly(phenylene vinylene‐alt‐cyclotriphosphazene), was synthesized through Heck‐type coupling reactions to produce π‐conjugated macromolecules with excellent solubility and precise electronic control of the band‐gap energy. This synthesis method is capable of producing well‐defined alternating polymers. The method is highly adaptable and can be readily used for other chromophore systems. The resulting polymers were also capable of accommodating a wide variety of substituents on the cyclophosphazene rings with minimal effect on the electronic properties. The band gap and electron affinities of the polymer were varied through the manipulation of the π‐conjugated unit located between the insulating phosphazene rings. Each chromophore matched the intended conjugation length consistently throughout the macromolecules. The polymers were good film formers because of the chosen substituents on the phosphazene rings. The absorbance of the polymers indicated minimal spectral shift from the monomer absorbance. This suggested an effective insulation of each chromophore unit from its neighbors by the phosphazene rings. Reproducing kernel space methods are used to study the truncated matrix Hamburger moment problem on the line, an associated interpolation problem and the maximum entropy solution. Enroute a number of formulas are developed for orthogonal matrix polynomials associated with a block Hankel matrix (based on the specified matrix moments for the Hamburger problem) under less restrictive conditions than positive definiteness. An analogue of a recent formula of Alpay-Gohberg and Gohberg-Lerer for the number of roots of certain associated matrix polynomials is also established.The author would like to acknowledge with thanks Renee and Jay Weiss for endowing the chair which supported this research.  相似文献

In this paper, assuming a certain set-theoretic hypothesis, a positive answer is given to a question of H. Kraljevi, namely it is shown that there exists a Lebesgue measurable subsetA of the real line such that the set {c R: A + cA contains an interval} is nonmeasurable. If a statistical or a voting decision procedure is used by several subpopulations and if each reaches an identical conclusion, then one might expect this conclusion to be the outcome for the full group. It is shown that this property fails to hold for large classes of decision procedures. The geometric reasons why the consistency does not hold are described. A general theorem is given to characterize the procedures that satisfy this property of weak consistency.This research was supported in part by NSF Grant IRI-8803505 and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Crystals of the title compound are orthorhombic, Pca21;a=27.586(4),b=10.509(3),c=11.080(2) Å,V=3212(1) Å3,Z=8. The structure was solved by direct methods, from data collected at room temperature on an Enraf-Nonius CAD4 diffractometer, and refined by full-matrix least squares to a finalR value of 0.055 using 2043 reflections. One of the two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit is disordered. The disorder is manifested mainly between the oxygen atom and one sulfur atom and is caused by opposite enantiomers occupying corresponding positions in different unit cells. The endocyclic torsion angles in both independent molecules are very similar but the disposition of the heteroatoms on the twist-boat framework is different in the two molecules. Site occupancy of the two models on this framework in the disordered molecule is in the ratio 2179 with the smaller proportion being very similar to the ordered molecule and the remainder similar to that found in the normal molecule oftrans-4-chloro-2,4,6-tris(trichloromethyl)-1-oxa-3,5-dithian (Irving and Irving, 1988).  相似文献

The exponential X-ray transform arises in single photon emission computed tomography and is defined on functions on ?n by , where μ is a constant. Approximate inversion, and inversion formulae of filtered back-projection type are derived for this operator in all dimensions. In particular, explicit formulae are given for convolution kernels (filters) K corresponding to a general point spread function E that can be used to invert the exponential X-ray transform via a filtered back-projection algorithm.
